Montrose Explore Western Colorado Ride

MONTROSE 4th of July Weekend Ride

Join the Chapter for a tour of southwestern Colorado July 4-7.   We will be basing out of Montrose.   Rides will include the Million Dollar Highway for a 50 Ride One Nation Ride. See each day's ride summaries below.

Glenn will be leading the rides Friday and Saturday and the Sunday return ride.   Wes will lead the Sunday Black Canyon/Lake City Loop ride and the Monday return ride.

Plan your hotel reservations ASAP.  If you wish, pair up with a roommate. 

Itinerary:

Friday: Ride to Montrose via US-285 and US-50 over Monarch Pass.  Meet at Mavrik Gas, 18465 W Colfax Ave. @ 8:30am.  Pre-ride 8:45. KSU: 9:00am SHARP

Saturday: Loop South over the Million Dollar Hwy.  Stop at Silverton Harley Davidson and Durago Harley Davidson. Then, loop west through Delores and Telluride back to Montrose.  Glenn will supply a meet up location and time. The Route links for the three stages of this ride are:

Sunday: Black Canyon of the Gunnsion -Lake City Loop will take us along the south rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison before heading to Lake City for lunch at Packer's Saloon and Cannibal Grill.  Then, we will head over through Durango and take the Million Dollar Hwy from the south to get back to Montrose.   Meet up: City Market Fuel Center, 16400 S Townsend Rd at 8 am.  Leaving at 8:30 SHARP

Ride Back:  You have the option of riding back Sunday or Monday.   The route will be US-50E to Gunnsion. Then, it heads north on CO-135 to Almont and over  Cottonwood Pass (CR 742/812)  to Beuna Vista.  US-285 will then take us home.   For the Sunday ride back ask Glenn for meet up location and departure times.   For Monday:  Meet up: City Market Fuel Center, 16400 S Townsend Rd at 8 am.   Leaving at 8:30 SHARP

Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member.  All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends and the individual HOG member. Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. Denver Chapter #3188 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy
